Campbell River Community Golf Tournament

This past weekend I had the pleasure of volunteering to help with the Campbell River Community Foundation's "Swing for Charity" golf tournament.  My job was to monitor the 13th hole to confirm if a hole in one was accomplished. There were several golfers that attempted to bribe us (the prize for a hole in one was $5000.00) but we were not to be had.

My partner Scott and I had a marvelous day, the weather was superb, the golfers were in high spirits and our neighbours at the drive on the 14th hole were a lot of fun.

Throughout the day I took a lot of pictures and so many of them turned out well that I thought I would put together a bit of a slide show.  This show really exemplifies why Campbell River is such a wonderful place to live.

One of the facts that has always stuck in my mind since I cmpleted the research for www.GoCampbellRiver.com is the number of not-for-profit community service groups there are in Campbell River.  There are so many for such a small city, with literally thousands of volunteers, each donating their time and money to help make our town a better place.

The goal in most cases is to help those who are marginalized in a multitude of ways from health issues to homelessness.  The win here is for everyone, as these programs help create an atmosphere of caring, an atmosphere that ensures that those in need are fostered and nurtured.

In the video keep your eyes peeled for the very pregnant deer walking across the green, I swear she was ready to drop that baby right behind us.

You Go Campbell River and You Go Campbell River Foundation, Nice work all of you.
