Description - Hermit Thrush
The hermit thrush is brown on top with a reddish tail, mostly white in the under parts with bold black spots on its neck and chest, smaller than its cousins it is closer in size to a large Sparrow about 10 to 15 centimetres in length. An antisocial bird these thrushes are usually only seen alone.
Voice of the Hermit Thrush:
Fluty one note song.
Habitat of the Hermit Thrush:
Under the cover of coniferous trees and mixed forests. During the winter you can usually view these birds at sea level but in the spring they move to higher elevations.
Feeding Habits of the Hermit Thrush:
Primarily Insects, seeds and fruit.
