Just north of Gowlland Island, a 2 minute boat ride from the Quadra Island Ferry Terminal and the Government Marina, Steep Island does not look like much from the surface. Rocky and flat the island is covered with second growth timber, which camouflages the amazingly disparate extravagance of the marine life displayed on these walls.
Colours range from the deep purples of giant purple feather duster worms and the electric yellows of and reds of the sea stars to the yellow sponges contrasting with seemingly acres of strawberry sea anemones.
